Major Courses
English Language Courses
We offer several courses for international students who wish to
improve their English before starting their degree programme.
Students require an IELTS score of 5.5/TOEFL 527 in order to join
this course.
Foundation Programme
The Foundation Programme is designed to form an entry route for
high potential students from non-traditional and international
backgrounds into Higher Education.
The Foundation Programme can offer direct progression to most
degrees at Queen's Campus, such as Applied Psychology, Business
Finance, Biomedical Science and Human Sciences.
Students also progress to degrees in Durham City, such as
Geology, Cell Biology, Archaeology, Education, Politics and some
other degrees upon negotiation with the respective department
ENGLISH REQUIREMENT
You will be required to provide evidence of your proficiency in
English. We accept the following minimum qualifications:
- IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in exceptional circumstances)
- TOEFL (paper based) 550 with 4.0 in the Test
of Written English (TWE); TOEFL (computer based) 213 with an essay
rating of 4.0
Undergraduate programmes of study
We offer undergraduate degrees in arts, health, humanities,
science and social science.

English. We accept the following minimum qualifications:

Degrees. In the Research Assessment Exercise 2001 six of Durham's

Durham University you may live in a fully catered college, a
self-catering college or you may 'live out' in privately rented
accommodation. Everyone who becomes a student at Durham University
becomes a member of one of the 16 Durham University Colleges.
